The working meeting was held on the basis of the Forensic Expert Centre of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation 29 december 2022

The working meeting on the exchange of interagency experience at the expert level was held at the Forensic Expert Centre of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation from 20 to 22 December, 2022. Representatives of the Scientific and Practical Center, as well as General Directorates of Forensic and Technical Examinations took part in this meeting.

During the meeting specialists of the State Committee got acquainted with the current state of expert activity of dactyloscopic, photo-video technical, linguistic and phonoscopic examinations.
The greatest interest was aroused by the organization of photo-video technical examination as a separate direction among traditional forensic examinations, the separation of which is due to the needs of investigative practice in the application of comprehensive knowledge to establish the circumstances of the case under investigation, recorded in digital photographs and video records. During the working meeting the possibilities of the software available to experts which is used for automation of various methods of calculating the qualitative parameters of objects captured in photo and video images were demonstrated.

During the meeting there was also a discussion of the methodological, informational materials and software products used, topical issues in appropriate areas of activity, complex expert situations, ways to solve them, qualified consultations were received.

Russian colleagues demonstrated openness and friendliness to the delegation of the State Committee, expressed interest in further cooperation.

The information and methodological materials obtained during the working meeting will improve the professional level of experts, the quality of dactyloscopic, phototechnical, linguistic and phonoscopic examinations, and will create favorable conditions for their further development.
