The staff of the Department of the Handwriting Examinations of the Directorate of Documents, Banknotes and Handwriting Examinations of the General Directorate of Forensic Examinations of the Central Office of the State Committee had an internship at the Russian Federal Center of Forensic Science of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation on the topic “Current state and prospects for the development of forensic handwriting examination” from 3 to 7 October, 2022.

During the internship the specialists of the State Committee got acquainted with the organization and practice of conducting forensic handwriting examinations in expert institutions of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, the current state and prospects for the development of forensic handwriting examination; studied the issues of standardization of forensic expert activity.

Within the framework of the training sessions, the most actual issues of forensic handwriting examination were discussed: diagnostics of unusual conditions of performers of disputed handwritings, research of handwriting objects in paper and electronic copies, digital images.

An experimental research conducted by Russian colleagues on the study of handwriting objects made using plotters and robots-painters aroused great interest.

The information, methodological and reference materials obtained during the internship will improve the professional level of handwriting experts, the quality of handwriting examinations in general, will create favorable conditions for the further development of forensic handwriting in the Republic of Belarus.
