An additional meeting of the expert group to agree on the draft Agreement on the formation of the Coordinating Council of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the field of forensic expert activity and the decision of the Council of CIS Foreign Affairs Ministers on this issue was held on February 7 in Minsk.

Representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee participated in the meeting in the online conference mode.

Taking into account the comments received as a result of internal country procedures the participants of the meeting finalized and agreed on draft documents at the expert level. The CIS Executive Committee was advised to send the materials of the additional meeting of the expert group to the Commonwealth states to complete the internal country procedures.

The main purpose of the development of partnership relations in the field of forensic expert activity in the CIS states is to further resolution of the tasks of protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens and the interests of their states through objective science-based examinations and expert research.

The draft Agreement on the formation of the Coordinating Council in the field of forensic expert activity provides for the approval of the regulations of the council which as a body of sectoral cooperation of the CIS aims to ensure within its competence the organization and coordination of interaction between forensic examination bodies in forensic expert activity and constructive cooperation with international organizations and their structures.
