The visit of the delegation of the University Center of Legal Medicine Lausanne – Geneva took place on July, 18. During the visit, a solemn ceremony of signing an Agreement on cooperation in the field of forensic medicine between the University Center of Legal Medicine Lausanne – Geneva and State Institution «Scientific and Practical Center of the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus» was held within the walls of the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus. The document was signed by the Head of the Scientific and Practical Center Igor Moroz and the Director of the University Center of Legal Medicine Lausanne – Geneva Silke Grabherr.

This visit for Silke Grabherr isn’t the first. The acquaintance with the State Forensic Examination Committee began when she attended a forensic conference organized on the basis of an expert agency, where she made a presentation «Achievements in the field of forensic imaging». It was this visit and acquaintance with the Committee’s forensic experts that initiated the interaction between the two expert organizations.

During the visit, the capabilities of forensic biology, genetic laboratories and genotyposcopic research laboratories were demonstrated to the Swiss delegation. The delegation also visited the multifunctional forensic medical examination institution opened at the end of 2017, got acquainted with the organization of work of the department of general expertise, biological evidence laboratory research department, which includes the department of forensic chemical examinations.

The parties discussed issues of cooperation in the field of forensic medicine, in particular, they discussed the development of cooperation in the field of forensic medicine in areas such as the exchange of experts for internships, training of experts, participation in joint seminars and conferences, joint research and development, as well as other interaction that meets the objectives of the development of cooperation in the field of forensic activity.
