International cooperation
Since its establishment the State Forensic Examination Committee has been active in various areas of international cooperation. In order to implement the task of developing cooperation with foreign forensic expert organizations the State Committee developed a Concept of International Cooperation in the Field of Forensic Expert Activity in 2014. The international activity of the State Committee is aimed at forming a broad system of communication with forensic experts from various countries, mutually beneficial cooperation with law enforcement agencies and other organizations of foreign states, as well as international organizations.
Thanks to the development of international cooperation Belarusian experts have unique opportunities to exchange experience of expert practice and expert ideas. The possibility of such cooperation is especially relevant because of introduction of new types (subtypes) of forensic examinations and research in the State Committee.
Experts of the State Forensic Examination Committee actively participate in seminars, conferences, trainings and master classes abroad, they are trained in expert institutions of other countries and also conduct master classes for foreign specialists.
The quality of training of forensic experts in the Republic of Belarus is highly appreciated in many countries of the world. That’s why every year dozens of foreign forensic experts are trained at the Institute of Further Training and Retraining of the Personnel of the State Committee and have internships on the basis of practical departments of Belarusian expert agency.
Within the framework of strengthening and expanding cooperation with forensic expert organizations of foreign states the main efforts of the State Committee are currently focused on developing cooperation within the territory of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The State Committee initiated the drafting an Agreement on the Formation of the Coordinating Council of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the field of forensic expert activity. The work of the Coordinating Council will allow to join the efforts of forensic expert organizations of the Commonwealth countries in terms of improving international experience through implementation of new forms of cooperation. The result of the work done was the signing of the abovementioned Agreement at the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State in Bishkek City on October 13, 2023.
