The Agreement on cooperation between the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus has been signed 16 september 2022

As part of the business visit to the St. Petersburg Academy of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation the working meeting of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin with the Chairman of the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus Alexey Volkov took place. The Deputy Chairman of the State Forensic Examination Committee Alexey Aleshkevich, the Head of the State Institution “Scientific and Practical Center of the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus” Vadim Poznyak, the Head of the Directorate of Legal Support and International Cooperation of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Oleg Mikhailov and the staff of the department took part in the meeting.

Alexander Bastrykin noted that Russia and Belarus have developed unique relations based on productive business cooperation in various fields, strong friendship of our peoples, deep spiritual and cultural ties. He added that the relations between the law enforcement agencies of Russia and Belarus are also traditionally built in the spirit of good neighborliness, respect and mutual consideration of interests. They cover numerous areas of cooperation in the field of criminal proceedings in specific criminal cases, in the development of common approaches to the protection of public values and interests from criminal attacks, as well as education and training.

“Today our states are actively developing and deepening integration processes within the framework of the Union State, including through expert institutions of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus”, noted the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

Then the signing of the Agreement on cooperation between the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus took place. The document was signed by the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin and the Chairman of the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus Alexey Volkov.

“This is our first interagency legal act, which, I’m sure, will give a new impetus to the development of bilateral contacts and will correspond to the goals that we set for ourselves. We consider the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus as an important priority of international cooperation, our close friend and partner”, noted Alexander Bastrykin.

At the end of the meeting Alexander Bastrykin presented agency medals “75 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941 – 1945” and “10 years of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation” to the representatives of the delegation of the State Forensic Examination Committee. In turn, Alexey Volkov presented the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation the Badge of Merit “For interaction”.
