The State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus and the State Center for Forensic Medical Examination of the Republic of Latvia have agreed to cooperate in the field of forensic medicine. The relevant Agreement was signed today at the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Eurasian forensic experts’ partnership: challenges, problems, ways of solutions and prospects of development» in Minsk, the BelTA correspondent reports.
The document was signed by the Deputy Chairman of the State Forensic Examination Committee, the Chief State Forensic Medical Expert of Belarus Yuri Ovsiyuk and the Deputy Director of the State Center for Forensic Medical Examination of the Republic of Latvia Jolanta Vamze-Liepina. The agreement provides cooperation in the field of research on theoretical and legal, organizational and methodological problems of forensic activity, the creation of new and improvement of existing methods and techniques of expert research, the exchange of experience and expert practice.
The Memorandum on cooperation in the field of forensic science between the State Institution «Scientific and Practical Center of the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus» and the Institute of Forensic Science of the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China was also signed at the Conference.
The State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus actively cooperates with many expert institutions and organizations in the near and far abroad countries. Agreements have been signed with many of them. The circle of partners is constantly growing. For example, colleagues from the UAE expressed interest in training their staff members in certain types of examinations in Belarus. «This year we plan to organize such training in our Republic. They were interested in particular in fire-technical and explosion examinations,» told the Deputy Chairman of the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Evmemenko.
«The technologies that are used in the world for conducting examinations are also in service with Belarusian experts,» added the Chairman of the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes Mr. Erkki Sippola. Currently, all over the world, forensic activities are being harmonized and the same standards are used. Belarus is moving in this trend using the latest achievements.
In the run-up to their professional day Belarusian forensic experts are holding the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Eurasian forensic experts’ partnership: challenges, problems, ways of solutions and prospects of development» on April, 19-20. Representatives of more than 30 expert institutions from more than 20 countries are participating in the Conference. At the breakout sessions, experts will exchange experience in organizing and conducting research in the field of forensic medical, forensic technical, forensic criminalistic and other types of examination. Foreign colleagues will be shown both Belarusian developments of technical solutions for forensic activities and products from world manufactures.
