The State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus held an International Scientific and Practical Conference «Eurasian forensic experts’ partnership: challenges, problems, ways of solutions and prospects of development» on April 19-20, 2018. More than 30 institutions from 20 countries participated in the Conference.
At the same time, the Conference included bilateral meetings of the Chairman of the State Committee Andrei Shved with the Chairman of the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI) Erkki Sippola, the General Director of the Institute of Forensic Science of the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China Zhao Qiming, the Director of the Directorate-General of the Security and Ports Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police the Sheikh Mohammad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, the Head of the Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexey Shishko, and the Head of the Main Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan N.Galipshin.
During the meetings issues of further strengthening of cooperation, exchange of experience in the field of forensic activity, training of foreign experts on the basis of the State Committee in the field of computer-technical, auto merchandising, explosion examinations, drug and psychotropic substances research were discussed.
Representatives of foreign parties noted the high level of organization of the work of the State Committee, its expert equipment, expressed interest in studying the Belarusian experience of organizing forensic activities within the framework of the unified expert agency and also in training specialists.
The Chairman of the ENFSI Erkki Sippola expressed interest in the participation of experts of the State Committee in ENFSI working groups as associate members.
The General Director of the Institute of Forensic Science of the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China Zhao Qiming expressed the desire to deepen our already established close cooperation and invited the leadership of the State Committee to pay a return visit to Beijing.
The Sheikh Mohammad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan confirmed the interest of the Abu Dhabi Police in training on the basis of the State Committee for certain areas of forensic examination, issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of education will be discussed in more detail during the 4th meeting of the Joint Committee on Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the United Arab Emirates on May 6-7, 2018.
The Head of the Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexey Shishko noted the high level of organization of the International Conference, and also stressed the importance and necessity of holding such international events in the field of forensic examination in the future.
During the meeting with the Head of the Main Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan N.Galipshin the Agreement on cooperation in the field of forensic activity between the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan was submitted for signing by the Belarusian side and ways of further interaction were discussed.
